電子書籍 “We Are Tomodachi” Summer 2020発行のお知らせ
この度、日本政府の取組や日本の魅力を紹介する電子書籍「We Are Tomodachi」2020夏号を発行し、政府公式ウェブサイト「JapanGov」（ http://www.japan.go.jp/tomodachi/ ）に掲載致しました。
2020年夏号は「Japanese Willpower to Save Lives」と題し、世界中の命を救うため、強固な意志で新たな可能性を見出そうとする取り組みを紹介。ノーベル賞受賞者が語る日本の感染症研究の功績とそれを生み出した精神、これまで出来なかった手術を可能にした世界最小の手術針、そして優れた膜構造の技術を利用したCOVID-19対策の医療用陰圧テントなど、世界の医療に貢献する日本のさまざまな試みを取り上げています。
さらには7月に北海道にオープンしたばかりの、日本の先住民族アイヌの魅力的な文化・歴史の発信拠点「ウポポイ」や、ブザンソン国際指揮者コンクールで優勝し世界中から圧倒的な評価を受けている若手日本人指揮者なども紹介しています。

We are pleased to announce that we have published on the JapanGov official government website (http://www.japan.go.jp/tomodachi/) “We Are Tomodachi,” Summer 2020, a digital publication that introduces initiatives by the Japanese Government and attractions of Japan.
The Summer 2020 issue, entitled “Japanese Willpower to Save Lives,” introduces the strong-willed efforts being made to discover new possibilities for saving lives around the world. This issue presents the various achievements of Japanese infectious disease research and the spirit that created them, as discussed by a Nobel Prize winner. The issue also describes a variety of Japanese endeavors that have contributed to medical care around the world, such as the invention of the world’s smallest needle, enabling surgery that was previously impossible, and the development of superior tensile membrane technology utilized in the negative pressure tent for medical use against COVID-19.
In addition, this issue focuses on Upopoy (National Ainu Museum and Park), which was just opened this July in Hokkaido—a base for introducing the invaluable culture and history of the Ainu, an indigenous people of Japan. Also featured in the issue is a young Japanese conductor who has received overwhelming worldwide acclaim for her success at the International Competition for Young Conductors of Besançon.
